Snailed is a step-tracking game published by Avigage LLC (“Snailed”, “we”, “us”). The app runs almost entirely on your phone — this policy explains the small set of data that does leave it, and why.
Snailed reads your step count from Apple HealthKit and the device’s motion coprocessor so the snail knows how far ahead you are. Those step samples are processed on-device only. We do not upload your raw HealthKit data to our servers, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than running the chase you opened the app for.
If you sign in (with email, Google, or Apple), we use Firebase Authentication to identify you and Firestore to sync a small profile: your name, the start date of your chase, your unlocked stickers and lore chapters, your notification preference, your profile photo, and the snail’s progress. This lets your chase follow you to a new phone. You can wipe all of it from Settings → delete account.
If you submit a photo to be reposted on our Instagram, we store the photo, your consent, your Snailed user ID, and (optionally) the Instagram handle you give us. Submission is voluntary. You can decline at any time, and you can email hello@snailed.app to have a submitted photo removed before we post it.
Lore chapters and stickers are non-consumable In-App Purchases handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat as a thin layer to track which IAPs you own so they restore across devices. Apple and RevenueCat each have their own privacy policies and receive the standard purchase metadata.
If you turn on notifications, Snailed schedules occasional snail-progress nudges that are generated and delivered entirely on your device — they are not sent from our servers and no notification data leaves your phone. You can turn them off at any time in Settings.
No third-party ad networks. No location tracking. No selling of personal data. No reading any HealthKit data type beyond step count. No analytics SDKs that fingerprint you.
Snailed isn’t designed for children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed in, email hello@snailed.app and we will delete the account.
You can request a copy of the data we hold about your account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@snailed.app or by tapping delete account in Settings. We respond within 30 days.
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or share, we’ll update the date above and surface the change inside the app the next time you open it.
